Noncommutative Monopoles and Riemann-Hilbert Problems
The Bogomolny equations for Yang-Mills-Higgs monopoles follow from a system of linear equations which may be solved through a parametric Riemann-Hilbert problem. We extend this approach to noncommutative R and use it to (re)construct noncommutative Dirac, Wu-Yang, and BPS monopole configurations in a unified manner. In all cases we write down the underlying matrix-valued functions for multi-mon...
متن کاملRiemann-Hilbert problems for last passage percolation
Last three years have seen new developments in the theory of last passage percolation, which has variety applications to random permutations, random growth and random vicious walks. It turns out that a few class of models have determinant formulas for the probability distribution, which can be analyzed asymptotically. One of the tools for the asymptotic analysis has been the Riemann-Hilbert met...
متن کاملFactorizations, Riemann-Hilbert problems and the corona theorem
The solvability of the Riemann–Hilbert boundary value problem on the real line is described in the case when its matrix coefficient admits a Wiener–Hopf-type factorization with bounded outer factors, but rather general diagonal elements of its middle factor. This covers, in particular, the almost periodic setting, when the factorization multiples belong to the algebra generated by the functions...
متن کاملGeneralized orthogonal polynomials, discrete KP and Riemann-Hilbert problems
Classically, a single weight on an interval of the real line leads to moments, orthogonal polynomials and tridiagonal matrices. Appropriately deforming this weight with times t = (t1, t2, ...), leads to the standard Toda lattice and τ -functions, expressed as Hermitian matrix integrals. This paper is concerned with a sequence of t-perturbed weights, rather than one single weight. This sequence ...
متن کاملRiemann surfaces: noncommutative story
For an open and dense subset in the Teichmüller space, we introduce a coordinate system which is (relatively) well-behaved under the action of the mapping class group. Surprisingly, the coordinates involve the set of projections and traces in a C∗-algebra. We argue that our approach might be helpful for representation of the mapping class group, and other issues.
